Remap by post – Removal of ECU
Sorry if this question has been asked before! Embarassed I have tried to search but without luck. Neutral

As I live in France I will have to send the ECU to The UK in order to get a remap.

How easy is it to remove the ECU (and re-install) – What is the procedure? (Cannot find anything in the Workshop Manual?)

Secondly, have anybody experiences with “distance remapping” ?

Cheers,

I would be scared to do this in case the ECU gets damaged or lost etc.

For interests sake as I am still learning all this stuff, why not just do the traditional Atric type remap?

Cheers for the info Razz

Now I know why I couldn’t find it in the workshop manual. It is not called ECU but ECM Thumbs Up

I am not serious concerned regarding shipping the back and forth between The UK and France, though.

I will now in due course start to contact various specialists and try to get a quote.

What is “Atric type remap” by the way?

This is the bell remap interface here

They allow you to remap at home. The supplier (Alive or Bell Auto etc.) will send you a new 'map' which you then upload to your own ECU using this device.

Don't worry if they are not as it can all be done via post and email Thumbs Up

The BAS box is a wonderful bit of kit that allows the tune to be taken off and put back on in 2 mins all done by yourself once the first bit is completed i.e. either the dealer or Pete sending you the box and you reading your vehicle and emailing the dealer/Pete the file Bow down

I have sent email relply with my 3 dealers company names, If you have a Puma then they or I can sell and send the BAS remap interface mentioned.

XS Offroad have my dealer programming tools if you dont need the interface to remove and reinstal the map.

NOTE, they can not offer discount on the forum for the BAS remap interface if you have a Puma as they are independant resellers and dont sponsor this forum.

The bas remap interface for Puma at the forum price is 519 inc vat and shipping to France. This offeres you the remap, 30bhp and 80nm allong with speed limiter removed and egr delete option where possibile.

Regards Pete

Bloody hell! Pete! What have you done to my car Shocked
Just come back from a short test drive after remapping the EMC

This is fantastic! I have had the car for about 6 month now.
Today it is like 6 month of headache had disappeared.

The hiccups have gone. Now I have a smooth yet powerful motor.
The torque has increased notable also in the low range rpm.
This is really good here in the mountains around in the hairpin turns.

Now time to go out and challenge all the Censored from Monaco in their Ferraris and lamborghinis Rolling with laughter

Thank you so much! Bow down Bow down
