Just been given a set of Crystal Headlights for my birthday. Any Do's and Don'ts about changing over or is it straight forward. I have a 2010 90 XS with Headlamp levelling. LANDYWATCH

Nice change. Also buy a pair of upgraded H4 bulbs for them, but stick to standard wattage (to stay legally fully in order). Land Rover themselves are now offering a set of upgraded H4 bulbs, I have bought them beginning this year from them, and they indeed are a nice improvement, much brighter, crisp white, but luckily nothing of the boy racer blue light tones. If you want to get better than that, go for some Speaker LEDs You never actually own a Defender. You merely look after it for the next generation.

Already have the bulbs. Nightbreakers - they made a difference on the country lanes . Hope this upgrade will make the lighting just a little better. LANDYWATCH

i'd be interested to hear what you think about the Crystals.
my really old 300 had very weak lights and Crystals made a huge difference but my Puma seems quite good with Phillips Extremes so another upgrade to Crystal will be interesting to see whether you see much difference. BM52 |

I will post here after the change if there is or isn't any improvement,
But, is it a straightforward job, even with the headlamp levelling??? LANDYWATCH Neighbourhood Watch for Land Rover Owners http://www.landywatch.co.uk/smf2/index.php |

Very easy job, I am sure there is a post on here somewhere about it.
I have done the Puma (no leveling) and the TD5 with leveling. Also changed the rims to stainless at the same time. If memory serves me, Puma has one screw in the 4 o'clock position that needs to be undone and the light comes out. I have them on mine and quite honestly you don't really need much else to be able to see well on country lanes Rhubarb and custard let fly with their secret weapon.

I agree with above but on main beam you can't beat some spots too. But the headlights would be good on their own too I'd imagine ... Never tried it myself always had my Roo's on with full beam. But dipped the uprated bulbs and crystals are all you'll need. KEEP CALM AND Drill ON

I believe you loosen "Bob's" screw then rotate the headlamp to release it from the 2 adjusting screws. That way when you put it back it's all set up. As Bob says - instructions must be on here somewhere. Crystals and extremes made all the difference to me - even though I going for LEDs now Tell someone you love them today because life is short. But shout it at them in German because life is also terrifying and confusing... |

Here it is:
http://www.repairmylandrover.co.uk/defende...al-renewal Undo the 4 o'clock but leave the adjusters at 9 and 12. I didn't take note of the above and consequently started a thread entitled "How do I adjust my headlights" Tell someone you love them today because life is short.
