Wheel arch spat repair
As some of you may remember a few weeks back I had a little accident involving a small tree branch on a BOAT which ultimately did this:

Some of you may say just leave it it's not much but like Killer I like things just right where possible! I am just wondering what your opinions would be on repairing this? I am tending to thing about re-pairing from the rear sanding down then using a flexi filler and then the whole priming and painting so on.... But one thing I have been considering is this:



These kits are available on E-bay and seems a good thing but wondering if it would really be suitable or not. TheThunder RollsπŸ‡¬πŸ‡§πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ

My spats (OEM) are ABS, not resin like the BMW nosecone on the video. I suspect you would need a different compound but I'm sure Killer is the expert Wink Tell someone you love them today because life is short.
But shout it at them in German because life is also terrifying and confusing...

My spats too are ABS like yours. I noticed the BMW is a different material too. But there are various kits on E-bay that work the same way. It's around £120 for a new LR primed spat ex painting! Shocked TheThunder RollsπŸ‡¬πŸ‡§πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ

That's a sh*t - I just sold my 4 painted ones for £70 on German eBay Embarassed
I had offered them on FS&W a few months ago but no interest Rolling Eyes

I bought my current used set (OEM unpainted black) off UK eBay for about £40 each. Maybe you can get a similar deal? Tell someone you love them today because life is short.
But shout it at them in German because life is also terrifying and confusing...

I could but then I'd have to get it painted then which I wouldn't be able to do myself. Not to expensive I doubt but a lot of faffing about. I also think it'd be a little bit of a waste due to something so minor to bin it. TheThunder RollsπŸ‡¬πŸ‡§πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ

To be fair Matt on most it will all come off anyway if it did with all the grit and what not that get's chucked at it at speed. If it didn't come off it would be damaged at least. Saying that depends on what you use it for. But if it's used for what it's designed for then I can understand it.. a bit.. TheThunder RollsπŸ‡¬πŸ‡§πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ

personally i would by a new spat - the trouble your going to have filling and rubbing down will be a pain, if you want it done properly sell that as damaged get a bit of money for it and either buy a genuine one ( personally i would ) or get the britpart one i was telling you about steve Thumbs Up Thumbs Up CSK Automotive

I bought and fitted unpainted black ones so they should never look worse than they do now Laughing
ACF-50 brings them up nice though Wink Tell someone you love them today because life is short.
But shout it at them in German because life is also terrifying and confusing...

By new, prime, colour then clearcoat, done Thumbs Up Steve.
Owned numerous Land Rover vehicles of all shapes and sizes over the decades.
Current Defender: A non tarts hand-bagged Puma 110 XS USW.

[Insert something impressive here such as extensive list of previous Land Rovers or examples of your prestigeous and expensive items, trinkets, houses, bikes, vehicles etc]

the matt black ones are horrid to clean they always dry multiple shades of black, does the acf-50 bring them up nice and glossy Big Cry CSK Automotive

MOG - The re-paired one myself but being a smaller area I would be more confident of making a better finish.

It's more difficult getting a good blend on a patch repair than it is refinishing a whole panel Smile Steve.
