Looking really good
Its in defender2 corporate colours as well I see (Stornaway grey), seems to be the most popular choice of colour at the moment. Your first mod should be to get rid of the dealer sticker in the window |

How come defenders sold outside of the uk or europe dont have the third middle brake light? Is it a certain rule there for cars too have a third brake light in the middle? '08 LR Defender 110 '08 Mini Cooper S - Sidewalk '86 MB 500 SL '79 MB 450SEL 6.9 |

Yes it is. The exception are utility (commercial) models as these are not "cars" under UK regulations. My Hard Top doesn't have one but all Station Wagons do. MAD COW 2007 90 Hard Top - 2009 BMW F800GS - 2002 CCM 604E Dual Sport Project90 |

Thanks Chaps,
Got the A Bar and Lights on, just need to wire them up. Not convinced I really need an RAI. I'm thinking more along the lines of thorough waxoyling, AT's, Black chequer plate cill protection and that's about it until it's got a few more miles on and its ready for a tune up. Off to the lakes in a couple of weeks and hopefully find some nice lanes when I'm over there. |

OK so most people don't need a raised air intake, remember they are designed to draw cleaner air in dusty conditions not as snorkels (although the work very well in this role).
But what they do is signal to other Land Rover owners that yours is a serious truck and does go further off road than Tescos car park But then the fact you chose a Defender instead of a Freelander/Disco/RRS/RR signals that anyway. Nice truck by the way MAD COW 2007 90 Hard Top - 2009 BMW F800GS - 2002 CCM 604E Dual Sport Project90 |

Unless you plan to cross the sahara or some other dusty place, do you really need the MPG hit of the RAI for around town (not to mention the pain of drilling the front wing!)

I don't have one yet, but many threads on here quote a drop in MPG due to restricted airflow... don't mean to be controversial.
