In my experience tyres that hard, whilst relatively unladen will rattle your fillings out
I find 30 in the front and 38 in the rear OK for most purposes. I'll add a bit nore for long motorway journeys (better mpg) or with heavy loads... Defender "Puma" 2.4 110 County Utility (possibly the last of the 2.4's) |

30 front and 40 rear works well for my 110, and 55 when towing a large twin axle caravan. Very bouncy ride at 48 rear solo as has already been pointed out. Ian One wife - livid

Thanks chaps, 48 seemed like way to much, I'll go with 30 front, 38/40 for rear and see how she feels.
I'm glad i put this one to the forum, just shows the boffins are not always right Cheers guy's. rs2315. |

I'm running 30/35 in a lightly loaded 110 on 265 Coopers, had 35/35 and 35/40 in before. 35 in the front is bloody awful over rough ground, rattling, banging and shaking the truck to bits

I run 30 psi front under all conditions
46 psi (3.2 bar) rear - light load and medium loads 60 psi (4.2 bar) reap - max weight with max weight trailer I only increase rear pressures when doing serious towing when the car is approaching 6 tons with trailer. This is for BGF All terrain T/A ko in 238/85 R16 (but I used the same for the Michelin XZY in 7.5R16 that were on the car when I got her) Jon |

Thats the same domestic situation as me rs and I think 48psi is way too much. For the last year I've been running them at 43 psi and (from my recent service report) tyre wear has been minimal and even - so no harm there. Plus the kids don't bounce their heads off the roof any more |
