A4 printer
sick to death of ink cartridges !

I know some of you are IT wise so might be able to assist with this and others will no doubt have your own opinions.

got a hp p2055d a4 printer at work and I'm well impressed with it. prints a4 in b&w quickly and quietly (double sided).

so I'm thinking about buying one of these printers (even tho its now outdated) but some of the prices appear to be rather high. the big problem is though I've seen the one advertised and it doesn't mention that it's compatible with windows 7 ?

can anyone highly recommend a reliable alternative...... just want simple and cost effective.

thanks.

Dell 1355cn works well for me, quick and quiet, ink lasts about a year running it for my event business. Cheers

i had hp for years and years, I used to work for them, but i bought a printer from the hp shop and it simply did not work, demanded my money back and jumped ship to canon. quite pleased with it.

most printers will work with windows7 and 8, if not a specific driver a generic one will probably work

kodak are the cheapest to run and the quality is supposed to be good too

all in ... unless you stop printing, you will need to buy ink. hp cartridges have shelf life built into the chip on the cartridge, some you can use needles to refill.

i'd buy another canon

tip: don't get taken in by all this wireless and internet printing .. when was the last time you needed to print something from anywhere other than home ??

We've got an HP at home that supports wireless prining and I find it a really useful addition. You can print directly to it from anything, even my ipad, with no extra drivers or anything clever.

Second vote for canon. Has built in scanner, memory card/ usb slot and small screen with ipod type menu wheel. Does everything I could ask of it.

Very quick, quiet and aesthetically pleasing.

I guess 2 out of 3 isn't bad........ but then you have to start the engine and then it is only aesthetically pleasing

Why not? We have a wireless HP all in one printer installed somewhere easily accessible from both kids rooms and from all floors in the house. Via our Wifi they can all easily print from their Macbooks and we from our Dells from anywhere in the house, or even from outside in the garden. Works a treat Thumbs Up You never actually own a Defender. You merely look after it for the next generation.

Big thumbs up for HP from me. I had a Canon before, but now a HP OfficeJet 6300 - ink lasts for months, and it's all-in-one for scanning etc as well. Been perfect, well recommended. Defender "Puma" 2.4 110 County Utility (possibly the last of the 2.4's)

We use OKI, Brother and Samsung for our customers.
Depending on what is needed, we dont supply ink jet anymore really unless it is for a plotter or something.
Printerland can have some decent deals, if you call them up they tend to be able to add a couple of years warranty or a proper full capacity toner on for free.
