Pay and Play in West Wales? That is like having an indoor ski slope in the alps during winter season.
I am from Cardigan (about 30 mins from Carmarthen) and have never needed to go to a P&P because there are hundreds of green lanes to go off-road on, and the bonus is you get to see the countryside too..... For free. Unless you have a modified challenge truck and want to test how far it goes before breaking, lol. I can get you in contact with a group of guys who know most if not all lanes in that area such as Brechfa: From this: Click image to enlarge To this: Click image to enlarge http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mCJioHCTdjk Or maybe head up the road to Strataflorida and Happy valley near Aberystwyth: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yXzeiiix-vQ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ltVN3e0TVvs Glyn :sheep: Admin note: this post has had its images recovered from a money grabbing photo hosting site and reinstated |

I do have a modified challenge truck and it would not be sensible to test it out on the green lanes
so id like to test it on a P&P site although i love those green lanes, look ideal for the family 110. 2008 Santorini Black 110 XS USW (Sold) 2015 Discovery 4.5 Black pack Firenze red XS 2008 Corris Grey 110 XS USW (sold) 2011 Santorini Black 110 XS USW (Sold) |

Welshsurferdude see if you can get a trip out around the lanes in your area you will have much more fun than any P&P site......its also nice to see someone on here trying to organize a day out good on you mate NEVER TAKE LIFE SERIOUSLY. NOBODY GETS OUT ALIVE ANYWAY

I like the idea of green lanes but that takes a bit of organising unless someone knows the area and wants to act as leader?
So we can all simply meet at the end of the M4 and go laning! then perhaps overnight at tenby as its a lovely little town with a lot of accommodation 2008 Santorini Black 110 XS USW (Sold) 2015 Discovery 4.5 Black pack Firenze red XS 2008 Corris Grey 110 XS USW (sold) 2011 Santorini Black 110 XS USW (Sold) |

While I kind of agree (I go out once a month greenlaning around Wales) a P&P is much easier to organise for a large group of people to spend the day - or weekend, and go out and have some fun. Wales has some fantastic greenlanes though, so whichever route you chose you will have fun

You do have to tread lightly on green lanes whereas on a P&P you can do pretty much what you please on this site in 100 acres! maybe greenlane sat then P&P sunday? 2008 Santorini Black 110 XS USW (Sold)

OK, it all depends what you want to do.
P&P: If you have a nice truck and don't want to damage it then you will spend about 1hr at a pay and play then be bored. If you have a challenge truck you will spend about 4 hours having loads of fun and then do something a bit too demanding and then wish you didn't as you end up stuck/ break something or get stuck with a broken truck. Green lanes: They are a good day/ weekend out for everyone. You tread lightly but then there are also challenging points. Sometimes green lanes pass by/ through disused quarries so if you want to have a good play then you can then. I also find greenlaning more social as you keep stopping for a brew or food maybe even camping/ few beers as it is more chilled out. where at P&P you tend to go there, meet, do your own thing and then go your own way as some people get bored sooner than others. I would also say in general the majority of the forum members have 'nice' truck that they don't want to throw around on full throttle. The members with challenge trucks tend to do a lot of official events. Maybe start a 'Poll' thread where people can say what they want and then go with the majority- I doubt you will get so many people that you will have trouble organising groups for events. Glyn |
