I use Unipart (Fuchs oil) 5w30 A5B5 and genuine filters.

I used Mobile 1 in my 2006 TD5 for 5yrs and changed it every 4000mls with genuine filters . Pricey but never missed a heartbeat and never a blow of black reek from the exhaust . My father worked for Mobil for 25yrs and i think the best oil on the market .

Genuine filters, Millers oil semi/synthetic 5/30 and changed at 4-5k at MOT time.
135000 and still does not puff or wheaze had it for 7 years now Although it is sat in a D2 and not a defender.... But don't hold that against me  Never lost, just found a new way to get there! |

Mobil 1 fully synthetic has been my choice for quite awhile
Used liqumoly fully synth before, and the engine sounded a lil quieter. Anyway, 220k km on and she has not skipped a beat. fires up well and runs well. service is every 10k km. From the land of the most expensive land rover defenders on planet earth. At �125k for a XS 110 csw and you get to own it only for 10yrs! Please find me a good reason to stay on this island. |

How long would a 20l tub of oil last once opened and resealed.? For the price of 20l it would be worth buying and keeping. so use one a year with a bit left over? 1999 Defender TD5 110

Hi
Just about to change my oil, has anyone used the PD specific engine oils which are available? http://www.opieoils.co.uk/pv-91373-millers...tent=91373 As the TD5 is basically a PD engine I thought this would be rather suitable, especially when it comes to protecting the fuel pump cam and rollers? So...The Landy take 5/30 and the wifes Focus takes 5/30 so its looking good to buy a 20l drum of the stuff and use for both.
Out of a 20l drum I should get two changes for both cars.  1999 Defender TD5 110

After a couple of emails to and from Opie., I have settled on 20l of Fuchs Titan XTR 5w/30 as it will do the LR and Ford Focus - just need to order it now. 1999 Defender TD5 110
