United Kingdom 2007 Defender 110 Puma 2.4 XS CSW Tonga Green
15000 miles. Vaccuum pump, a loose hose on the power steering and a mal-adjusted handbrake are the only things that have mnechanically failed.

I've had various cosmetic things done (paint on the intercooler grille, door check straps stopped working, rust around the light surrounds etc) but they didn't stop progress.

Love it to bits. Thumbs Up One that started out as a 2.4 TDCi 110 XS

Picked mine up today, given a thorough inspection and the only thing I could say was wrong (if I was being hyper critical) is that the o/s 2nd row door isn't totally flush by about 2mm.

Absolutely no wax or protection underneath but clean enough to eat your dinner off.

Goes well, looks great. Very impressed.

Happy new motor! Very Happy

I spent a full Sunday afternoon waxoyling the chassis when I got mine. Think it's shocking that there's nothing there from the factory. Land Rover keep claiming that 70% of their vehicles are still going today, you'd think they'd do something to keep it that way.

The coating that LR used to apply was little more than a protection from sitting around in a field awaiting a dealer anyway. It was certainly no substitute for a decent Waxoly (or equivalent).

Mine actually had quite a lot of wax on in when I bought it but I'm glad I had it all removed and properly treated.

The only way to really protect the chassis would be to galvanise it but they stopped doing that a long time ago. One that started out as a 2.4 TDCi 110 XS

Is it still possible to get one new with a galvanised chassis through LR's Special Vehicles department? Damn their lack of website! Grr

Where's the pics then? Wink

Decided I am going for a 110 Utilty, just been so busy no time to get down dealers and remind myself how little space ones arm has before I part with cash!

Glad to hear some positive for once as well Thumbs Up
(and that's a very Disco looking speedo!)

The only thing to fail on mine was the instrument panel. The fuel reader had gone faulty, replaced under warranty.
