Internal cage for a Puma
I have to get started doing a cage for my 110. I have done a few cages ago but mainly externals and comp ones.
So my question is if someone has a internal (or half-half) cage in his Puma 110?
I got a few brackets from SD but it would be a great start if someone could provide me with some pics.
Thanks m

Have a look at the later pages of Poufs' thread HERE. He's fitted an SD cage, which looks really smart. Darren

I'm sure there are full internal cages out there as well, including the front cab. Many will do bespoke, don't just look at those who traditionally do defenders.

As said, I want to build a NAS type front linked to a half or maybe full interior (Camel) style cage. The NAS front keeps the height low for the parking and I have a the 100" for hardcore play so the 110 is mainly about travel big distances....which we got plenty here, lol

You can't do full internal on the Defender unless you don't have a front findscreen hoop (or do loads of cutting and losing space). There just isn't enough room to make it practical.

The one that Pouf has is the same as the Camel 110s. If you look on the SD page they have LOADS of pictures of different types of 110 cages (both internal and external).

You could always go for a structural bulkhead and then bring the cage to that instead. (ie Drawing 54 in the MSA Blue Book I think)

It's a lot of work though but saves a lot of weight! Ignore the dash....well what dash there is.

This was the day I picked the 90 up. Much paintwork needed!

M

I have a 50th front windscreen hoop fitted to my 110 and am intending to join it to my SD Camel type internal section. The latter part I havent got to yet as I'm finishing the side trims and soundproofing fist. The first internal hoop looks to be although not difficult, but time consuming to fit (lots of checking and measuring etc.). I have already drilled the foles in the rear wheel boxes for the rear hoop. See my gallery for windscreen hoop pics

I love the camel type internal/external cages.

In hindsight I wish I'd have got that for my current 110 (I have a P&P full external cage).... ah well, next project I'll get one Laughing
