Is this any good? Quite a big spec, but less than 500 miles currently. Thumbs Up

£32K for a Defender. Jeepers. Shocked

You can get a whole lot of Range Rover for that money and by the sounds of it, be a lot more reliable (and nicer to drive of course) Not as new obviously, but that's where the smart money is.

I love Defenders, don't get me wrong, but I would not pay that much for one as a daily driver. 2016 D4 HSE

I see your point but depends where you live! I'm from Essex and far too many blinged up range rovers round here with how can I put it a certain type of owner thats why I would always choose a Defender it gets far more looks! £32k is alot of money though I will have to stick with the old td5 abit longer! Not sure how to understand that in the UK. This 2nd hand and already registered 110 XS is offered for £31.995. I took a look at the official Land Rover UK website price list and see the same vehicle suggested retail price as £32.885 On-the-Road price. Guess you can easily negociate a decent discount from that, just like everywhere....
Is the 2nd hand market that strong in UK? You never actually own a Defender. You merely look after it for the next generation.

Glad I suggested it now! Whistle

It's got a huge spec. List is £35k with the bits on it. We spec the demos pretty much the same each time and they sell quite quickly.

I'll keep an eye out for something a little less 'speccy'. Thumbs Up

Boys, I don't quite follow. The OP asked for a NEWish 110 XS. James a site sponsor, offered a NEWish 110. 500 miles is as close to new as you're likely to get.

The OP then clarified that he wanted to spend £25k. Fair enough and I'm sure James will keep an eye out.

Saying you can get a Range Rover for that price, lets state the f...ing obvious. You can get a Range Rover for £500. You get a Range Rover for £80000. What has it got to do to with this?!

As for this particular one, not every one will like it. Personally I love it. Interestingly the OP says he likes it.

Final thought if someone on here had bought it would everyone be saying he shouldn't have bought it or would it be a round of back slapping and more advise on rust proofing? Laughing

Was thinking of doing that, but didn't really see anything that was jumping out except one that was way more than i wanted to spend... I love my 110, but thats me just done 25k in just shy of a year ! Was thinking of trading in for a newer 110 and buying another car to keep the miles down between the two throughout the year...

I am with above.....

Yes it is speced out but pretty much for the same price as new.

I would be more down the line of buying new- at least then you get to run the engine in. The first 500miles are important. If someone buys to keep they bed it in and look after it. If it is a hire car, company car, demonstrater car etc it just gets abused from day 1. I remember the SVX 110 I had as a 'test drive' in. It inittialy got a 20 min normal drive, followed by a 'lets see what it will do' and then a quick play in the woods (only had 300miles on the clock).

Mine 110 DC XS with front and rear light guards, snorkel, steering guard, full chequerplate and rear tow step thing. Before I got the tax off it was £29,000 after negotiations (£2,000 off origionaly and then another £1,000 because it was a big order).

At the same time, due to location I am sure it will go- loads of people with loads of money who don't want to wait for anything.

I think everyone's circumstances are different (stating the obvious). I purchased my own 'to keep' but the offer of an ex-demonstrator at £6,000 below new price with only 4k miles on the clock was an offer too tempting to resist. Four years later and apart from 'niggles' it's been faultless. No replacement clutches, gearboxes and the myriad of doom and gloom you generally hear about on forums. Experience for me dictates an ex-demonstrator can be exceptional value for money which doesn't necessarily mean that you end up with a 'bag o' spanners' or indeed a money pit.
It also allows you the oportunity for a few extras you wouldn't necessarily be in the position to afford at purchase of a new one.

Thumbs Up If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!!
