Pom - we just hired a motorhome, and yes, they are expensive. There's lots about now - we hired one just a couple of weeks ago:
Click image to enlarge Lovely inside, with fixed bed, shower, toilet etc: Click image to enlarge We're in discussions with a partner about setting a small motorhome rental company up. As you say, they can cost £800/week to rent at high season... If you do rent one...
Fixed bed is great If you are more than 2 people, may be worth checking there's enough seatbelted seats for all Fridge size can be limiting, ours was less than 70 litres, so not much room for beer AND food... MPG was better than the Defender! As you're going a long way, 6th gear and cruise would be good (just like defender ) With the Motorhome, you won't need to pay site fees, as you can fill with fresh water and empty the toilet quite easily, it's much more self-contained than a caravan...jut pull over, swivel the driver's seat into the back and make a cuppa Defender "Puma" 2.4 110 County Utility (possibly the last of the 2.4's) |
