timing
Right after nearly 18months of not getting to the bottom of my starting issue on my 300tdi it has been to a different specialist who says the timing is retarded. This annoys me as when I bought it I was told the cam belt had been replaced. If it were so I might have expected that when it went in under warranty for being hard to start they might have thought to check rather than stick some new bits on.

Anyway the earliest it can be re done by my pet mot man is next Friday. I have ordered a new belt as it seems daft not to replace it. What do I need to look out for as tricky bits to doing this job are there any do's and donts?

Cheers.[/i] Rhubarb and custard let fly with their secret weapon.

worth changing the tensionier also. Also make sure you have the later type crank pulley (with the belt retension ring around the front).
