the plastic sheet is there so when water does get in it runs down the sheet and not over all the mechanical bits inside the door, peel the sheet off carefully and it want tear, then stick it back on its held with dum dum- like black goo. check the foam seal where the windowscreen fixes on the bulkhead and also pull the door seal off and make sure its all nice and sealed behind there CSK Automotive

Cheers K90. I take it then, the plastic sheets fits on the inside of the door frame rather than the outside?

once the door card is off this is what it will look like this is a puma door so the sheet is now more like foam on the td5's they have a clear type sheet but fits exactly the same CSK Automotive

John
When you take the door card off you will see the membrane between the card and frame. I had the same problem on the Puma and the TD5, water from the bottom of the door card, and both had the same problem. The seal between the window and door (waist seal) was letting water in and it managed to get the wrong side of the membrane and drip from the card. Puma was done by LR and I purchased new waist seals and fitted them on the TD5. There is also a gap at the front and rear of the waist seal where it meets the door/frame. Dum Dum fixed that Killer beat me to it ! Does anybody know where I can get the foam membrane from? I've stripped my rear doors to replace a wiring harness but have had to sacrifice the foam in too many places.
I'd ideally like to replace it. One that started out as a 2.4 TDCi 110 XS + New Defender 110 First Edition |

2 pics from the inside of a 2003 before I peeled the plastic off to repair the door bottoms. I replaced the plastic with builders plastic sheet from screwfix.
