Are you sure its measuring coolant temp? The dial and Scangauge temp are from the Cylinder Head Temperature sensor! Discovery 4 SDV6 Landmark F31 320dA Msport xDrive LR Defender 90SW TD4 Stornoway grey 320d E46 E70 X5 3.0d Sold! FFRR TD6 - Sold |

Yes it is the temp of the cylinder head and not the coolant. |

I'm getting temps while towing in 30-35 c weather of 95 to 105... I was worried when it hit 103, then 104 then 105... All seemed ok with it, car didn't go into limp mode or anything else. Can anyone confirm if I should be troubled with that temp?

During a 4hr trip from Norfolk to South Wales, Motorway and fast A roads, with +70mph on Motorway and 40 to 60 on A roads, Scanguage showed 89 to 91 C the whole way. AC on all the time. Has been the same since new. I use a Radiator Muff during the winter to speed up Warm Up as I still have AC on for it's drying/de-misting abilities. Temperature still stable 89 to 91 C. When idling at rest the Scanguage shows a Temp drop, slowly over time, as the AC fan is working and the internal heater matrix is still operational. Turn Off AC and internal Heater and temperature drops very very slowly at idle if cold outside. LANDYWATCH

Hello MK, in my TD5 the Nanocom reads 80 in traffic and in the city, on highways it goes up to 93C, BUT when climbing at highway speeds it will go to 105C without the temp gauge moving from the middle.
I normally end up going at 60km/hr to keep the temp down. Augusto Defender 110 TD5 2001 Discovery 4 TDV6 |
