That "Bealach na Ba" over to Applecross is a cracking bit of road - I'll bet you were hoping not to meet someone coming the other way on the corners with the pod caravan on the back Exclamation Question

I only found that 3 lochs route recently, a pal took me there to do some mountain bike training...

Looks like the weather was kind except in Glencoe.

Ah sitting here in the office (in Edinburgh), how those pics make me long for Applecross Rolling Eyes

Thanks for sharing Bow down

Been running back and forth to Applecross for meetings these last few weeks from Cawdor. It's tough I tell ya!

Hmm..Bealach Na Ba.. That's where the brakes went on the Disco3. An experience that will stay with me for a long time. We were near the bottom on the Applecross side, and engine braking plus the availability of a handy passing place avoided a catastrophe.

Disco 3s were subject to a brake recall; something about oil getting into the servo, resulting in loss of braking assistance. Dealer on the south coast was supposed to have done mine, but the problem was obviously still there. Fortunately, Macrae and Dick in Inverness got onto Land Rover for me, who paid to have the whole thing done again. Even gave us a courtesy car. Not bad on a six year old car. 2012 Defender Utility Wagon

Greeni try North Wales as well. Nearer and just as breathtaking.
And with the Euro currently great value against Sterling West Mayo and Conemara in the West of Ireland is well worth a trip Thumbs Up

Ah, Rossy, I know North Wales like the back of my hands for laning and places, we go there perhaps once every 3 weeks, but mainly to play in the sea.
I have done Ireland, around Castle Blayney, but that was mainly on my mountain bike. Very beautiful place and the people there were so, so friendly. I loved the roads too, how people just move over for you. Brill Thumbs Up

You could have put the hand brake on, it is set up on the D3 to work as an emergency brake in case of brake failure, I tried it on my last D3 and it works. Thumbs Up Original Member Pie n Pea Club.
