Phase 1 - bought second hand canvas
Phase 2 - bought hood support tubes at the show So, now that summers gone its time to fit it. The question is, does anyone have the procedure for truck cab removal and any tips for fitting the canvas. All advice and a small amount of abuse would be welcome - ta Loose Fit of the canvas over the truck cab Click image to enlarge The hoops |

Thanks gents,
Don't know the history of the canvas, it was bought from a friend of a friend - is quite nice though (would be nicer if it were more black than grey) Here’s a shot of the screen rail and the underside of the front of the canvas . I can’t see any obvious way that they attach together - there aren't any straps or anything on the front of the canvas . |

Does it slide in to the rail from the side?

the bead of the canvas sits in the channel of the loosely connected metal frame, then the canvas protrudes forward and up and over the whole metal frame. The frame is then bolted down.
next step is to tension the sides above the doors by feeding the 6 or 8 leather straps with D hoops on the canvas through the metal plates above the door and hook them onto the corresponding plastic receivers. on my old canvas there were 2 straps that came from the front and went around the first hoop to tension the front section; and the rear section was tensioned by 2 straps running vertically from the rear of the main canvas down to 2 galvanised strap fixings. Then fix down the sides by threading the cord under the fittings on the rear tub. all this information is based on a military canvas and unfortunately may be totally useless if you have a nas hood - as i have no experience of them, sorry |

thanks for the information farmer
My NAS hood has no straps at all on the 'over cab' section so I'm completely in the dark as to how to secure the front. The section over the doors has velcro attached to it - whether thats an original fiitment or been retro fitted I have no idea |

It looks like it attaches at the front by sliding in to the front sandwich plate from the side. It looks like there is a groove on the plate (left side bottom in your pic) and it looks like the hood has corresponding beading along the front edge. James |
