Hello everyone,
My 90 was a pretty bare spec when I bought it and in the course of adding things I've found I needed extra power up behind the dash. I', thinking of adding a replacing this bank of fuses (marked by the red box Click image to enlarge With a something like this blue sea fused distribution block http://www.mobilecentre.co.uk/index.php?ma...cts_id=243 Obviously this would mean running a fused power cable up from the battery box but this shouldn't be a problem. Is this idea sound? I've never really had a proper play with car electrics that isnt car audio Wouldnt want to do any damage. I'm hoping to provide power to things like auxiliary lighter sockets/spot lights/cb etc. |

I would leave the existing Fuses and add the Blue seal box into the battery compartment under the seat.
Then you can run fused power to dash or to aux back lights etc and fuses are easy to acess. This is what I have done. |

Likewise I've put mine in battery box out of the way and taken wires up to dash when required. 2007 TD5 90 Hard Top

The advantage of putting the fuse box where you've suggested is there will only be one cable run back to the battery area instead of several - I think it's a good idea

That's the plan! I'm happy doing all the work and I was wondering if anyone had done similar. I also intend to add another fuse box under the seat but I wanted a distribution point behind the dash to give a little room for expansion. If I want to add things like heated mirrors/seats in the future it would be an easy wiring job. Just a quick one what is the unused plug that is on the back of the metal plate?
