Hi there!
A friend of mine have a weird problem with his Gearbox (MY08 or 07 I believe) He have problems to engage the 1st, 5th gear and the reverse, but during the mornings and at certain times during the day the gearbox working pretty good. To engage the reverse he must shutdown the car, engage the reverse and then, startup again to going backward (not so useful). The car have 110.000 km (out of guarantee). The gearbox oil has been changed 20,000 km ago and the transfer oil just 1,000 km ago due a leakage. According to the stealer the gearbox should be replaced. Any toughts about the cause of the problem? Thanks in advances for the ideas Eduardo MY 2007 110 SW PUMA 2.4: Big Fog of 64' MY 1994 Jayco 1207 Folding camper: "El Tremendo" Click image to enlarge |

Eduardo,
Seems that the selector forks in the gear train are faulty. Only way to cure this is gearbox out and replace selector fork or new gearbox. 'las cosas que pasan en la vida que nos disgusta' Joe El pepe flamenco JLS 'El Pepe Flamenco' |

Transit gearbox will not quite fit easily - beware!!!
Besides, 'wacked gearbox' from Transits may give premature failure. Joe El pepe flamenco JLS 'El Pepe Flamenco' |
