Could be drive flange, diff, or halfshaft.
At least easy fix |

Not the driveshafts - looks like its the diff
Diff is fitted with an ARB locker - looks like its going to be an expensive repair. One of the bearings on the propshaft also worn, so that will need replacing as well. 2007 TD5 90 Hard Top |

Good news I think - looks like its the rear off side drive flange. Turns out to be a known problem. Have ordered Ashcroft half shafts and HD flanges. Will also upgrade front flanges soon. Would appear to be lack of lubrication on later vehicles causes flanges to half shaft joint to corrode causing flange splines to give way.
Worth while lubricating this area occasionally with EP90 oil, grease not much good in this area ! 2007 TD5 90 Hard Top |

landlord,
be sure to check if the HD flanges can be used with your wheels. I know of some that don't work with the standard boost wheels or with any spacers for that. Don't know about the ashcroft ones and don't know what wheels you have but thought it useful to mention 2cents |

Thanks for the warning, have Mach5 wheels and the flanges look similar shape to original. Think they will work worth Boost as well.
Vehicle is in having some paint work resprayed so will be installing new shafts and flanges tomorrow evening. Will let you know. 2007 TD5 90 Hard Top |
