Ref JE Chester, they are very friendly, and on the service desk, as you say, they sort out any issues without complaint. Rachel is very helpful, adores spaniels. However, the girl with the dizzy blonde hair on the reception at Guy Salmon in Knutsford is even more manic about spaniels...I had hardly got through the door last August when when she spotted my 2 spaniels and exclaimed; "Oh, my darlings.." and wouldn't stop cuddling them. As the darlings bit was in the plural I reluctantly assumed that this affection was not aimed totally at me...but then 2 spaniels and me are in the plural, but then I got coffee.

The main differences were:
1 - Very smooth gear change, ie just like a car with no notchiness or difficulty getting in gear. (mines having a new gear stick assembly on Friday so i'll report back on any improvment) 2 - Clutch very light compared to my 07, although I had a new clutch in Sep 09. (I actually prefer it a bit heavier as you have more feel) 3 - Very smooth running engine (new ECU upgrade has cured my 07, now the same) Similarities: 1 - Steering just as vague Other than that nothing else to report. Hope this helps. Cheers Ian |

Different for some but my 57 has quite a lot of spray-on protection on the underneath (actually it is pretty thorough).
The new ones have absolutely nothing. One that started out as a 2.4 TDCi 110 XS + New Defender 110 First Edition |

I think its a bit hit and miss if you get any spray on protection my 08 had none and my 59 has none |

I think they stopped doing it late in 07 or early 08. Although it has pretty good coverage I'm putting it in for Waxoyl next week (e.g. there's no spray coverage on the top of the chassis members or inside). Hopefully the combination will be perfect. I had the gear stick rattle - would rattle as described, but also when accelerating between 50 and 70.
It had a new selector guide and it totally cured it - even i was impressed the dealers could problem solve like that (well actually it was the dealer principle but hey!). They then replaced the clutch and they broke the whole assembly - which has had to be totally replaced. Mike |

Had the gearstick assembly replaced yesterday and has completely sorted the problem.
Also just sneaked a new stearing guard on.....wonder how long until the wife notices. And another one.. Challenger 4x4 (Tongham) have a Warn 9000xd and bumper for sale at £950. Don't know if this is cheap or not but a main dealer would ask £1500 for it. Cheers Ian |
