Hi All,
Would like to invite any advice on what the best suspension package to go for would be for a defender 130 overland vehicle. I want to keep it as easy to repair as possible so dont want anything extremely technical. Scouring through the various sites i see a lot of packages for 90 and 110 but not much at all for 130. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Steve |

Overlanding - what's wrong with a standard suspension setup? i thought all 130s had HD suspension.
I'd be looking at upgrading driveshafts, CVs and possibly lockers especially as your truck could be fully laden. |

Done 3 weeks around Portugal this year with stock suspense on my 130.. Front was fine but rear did sag abit and shock at rear didn't cope too well when weather got hot.
I may just change the shocks. |

I would recommend land rover hd springs and Koni dampers for the nicest ride, but if you need a bit more fine tuning in the spring department would go across to OME springs.

I was looking at Koni, OME or Terrafirma big bore shocks.
Glad to hear Koni are good, which ones do you have?. |

I've had all three.
Start with list in reverse Terrafirma, are , poor quality, poor service, badly designed, and fail........ OME, is what i am running at the mo, this is because I require the extra travel shocks that they can supply and that I would rely on in an overland situation, also have the advantage that they are same damper on all corners, and is a Land Crusier part, so is source able. Koni, Probably the best damper for standard or a plus 2". I managed to hit massive rock taking out two wheels, one was touching the brake disc, and dampers took all this abuse. I would recommend as fit and forget. Top quality. Andy |

Only change the fronts if you have a winch, standard springs all round and Koni heavy track raid shocks all round, you will need nothing else
