Fuel pressure regulator leaking....
I noticed a strong smell of diesel after a drive this morning. I have just had a look under the acoustic cover and the fpr is leaking. It looks easy enough to change, and have already ordered a genuine parts replacement.

I notice that there are repair kits available, and was wondering if its worth reconditioning my leaky one and keep as a spare? 2021 Defender 110 X-Dynamic HSE D300 MHEV

There are kits in eblag, a bag of O rings.

If you google it, there is a couple of hits that come up with folk who have repaired them.

As to long term reliability on a repaired one, I don't know.

edit: ebay link to repair kits

my td5 went after 60k/7 years, common problem, easy fix and saves you £££ in diesel. Nice thing about td5's is apart from the fuel pressure regulator and injector seals, the engines are bulletproof Thumbs Up

and they sound so much nicer than a transit Mr. Green

Cheers. I think I will skip the rebuild, if it goes again I'll just buy another one.

I agree with your TD5 comments, I think its a very sweet engine, and sounds really nice. Mine has only done 52k, buts its 10 years old now. No oil leaks, and still runs well. Maybe I will replace the MAF sensor next to try and cure a little laziness to get going when its cold. 2021 Defender 110 X-Dynamic HSE D300 MHEV

Yes - my FPR has also started leaking. If its the same thing were talking about at the back of the engine, I've tightened it and it's stopped leaking !

Monitoring it - if it stars again will order a new one......

More worrying the rear half shaft broke tonight for no apparent reason !

Changed my MAF again last weekend and removed the EGR - feels like a new engine again ! 2007 TD5 90 Hard Top

I just clocked over 160,000klm (2004 Td5) and notice mine started leaking, put a ebay kit in it about 2 weeks ago and it just started leakng again on Friday (after about 2000klm) . Have just fitted a genuine replacement. Would only consider genuine next time
