Just a quick heads-up that we have been allocated an X-Tech 90 Hard-Top in Orkney Grey which goes into production next week.

If anyone is interested in this vehicle for mid-month on a 62 plate then please let me know.

On the road price is £27,995, or £23,104.17 + VAT + £55 1st Reg Fee + £215 Road Tax if you are a business purchaser.

Well worth the money as if you spec up and Normal 90 with all the bits it works out far more expencive.

1 little question please, do you know if the tubular abar will fit with that grill as im thinking of a couple of spots to be added as mine going to be a work horse on my new estate?

Hi Defender-Stu

I saw a 2011 X-Tech (which has the same grille and headlamp surround package as the 2012 model) yesterday, and it had a Tubular A-bar fitted to it. There was approx 1 inch clearance behind it to the grille.

You may struggle to get spots onto it, unless the bracket is fairly flush with the back of the unit, but the A Bar certainly worked.

I don't think it would work with the genuine LR A Bar though.

The 2012 X-Tech looks awesome.

Enjoy the new truck - not long to wait now!

I drove mine home on trade plates last night, and took it for it's first run at midnight - reckon I must have been the first to drive a 62 plate at midnight in my area!

Previously..... Quite a few! I really am a sucker for them!

Yes, it would. X-tech is same light front/surround as the SVX. I have the genuine LR A Bar installed on mine. No clearance issues at all, and there is provision on that A bar to install two spotlights. Pretty sure that certain Warn lights would work without issues. Ask your dealer about it, they should know. No, got an SVX since 2008. Asked dealer to install the genuine LR A Bar before delivery, and it is a perfect fit on that SVX or X-tech type grill (they are identical except for color), and actually lifts the look of this grill. Same result will be on your X-tech. After exactly 4 years now this A Bar still looks like brand new. I do not have those Warn spot lights though, because the light output of these double clear lenses is so good, that there is no point in even more spots. I recommend though to ask LR to install the upgraded H4 bulbs which are fully legal and which are now an original LR accessory. Cost is maybe 20£, but I can assure you it is worth it. Nice white and more crisp light than the regular H4 bulbs, and fully legal which also is important. Below is a pic of my front which will give you an idea. Love the X-tech too, have seen several around here. Thumbs Up

No, I didn't go for the X-Tech, for a few reasons (mainly that I can't get LR Dealership Employee Discount on Limited Editions!) and also because Mrs J8GHX likes the rear windows........ so I've got an XS 90 Station Wagon.

We have had an X-Tech at work for a couple of weeks and it was polished up and put on display earlier last week. Quite jealous of you really!

The interior, with the padded cubby box lid is very nice - you really need to speak to 'Go Beyond' fcx.me.uk and get some more leather bits for the dashboard. It will set it off wonderfully!

I'll be posting some photos of mine a little later, once I've worked out how the hell to use the gallery feature on here!
