Front washer jet has dropped off
Hi
Just noticed my front washer nozzle has disappeared leaving a small piece of it presumably bolted to the bulkhead.
Does any body know how to replace it, easily!?
Thanks

Hi Rick
I haven't had the problem thankfully on the 2.2 but I did my 300Tdi a few months back and it was a pig! the washer nozzle is a single unit with the washer jets moulded to the threaded plastic bolt (with the water pipe connection done inside of the cab. The washer pipe is connected with a push fit and then some funky spring clip terminal.

The whole thing was then secured in place using a brass bold and washer and then re-funly clipped.

Just where in the build process they assemble this bit is unkown but judging by the amount of dash I had to rempove to fit it I am guessing it is quite early on !.

Some others were more lucky in that they must have had tiny fingers as they managed the whole process by only removing the ash tray in the top of the dash!

Coming back to the Puma I would imagine it may be possible to just remove the upper central part of the dash and then fiddle and Fa*t ar*se around with it from the small access.

It may be worth having a gander as the bit itself is only two pence 'apenny!

hope it helps

Thumbs Up Landy Mad

On the Puma, I thought that the jet assembly simply pushed on (which is probably why yours has simply fallen off). This is of course as long as the spigot bit which goes through the bulkhead is till in place to push a replacement on to.

Old pre and post Puma problem, the outer part often cracks and falls off. Pre Puma's it's either dash top off or if you have access to small fingers it's possible to undo the retaining nut via the ashtray. Never had to do a Puma yet. Steve.

Why not while you're at it buy 2 replacements and put them in the spare wiper holes(used to hand the wipers to the driving seat position), join them up to the existing washer pipe with a Tee piece and get some better washers for the screen.

I have very small fingers and did mine through the ashtray hole. Very fiddly but can be done with a long nose pair of pliers. Hardest part for me was getting the pipe pushed back on. Much easier to remove top of dash if you do not have lots of patience and little fingers Rolling with laughter

I have ordered a new part for my Puma, it seemed to be in one piece but hopefully when I get it will come apart. There is a piece still protruding from the bulkhead. Thanks everyone for your help.

Has anyone done that on a Puma already? How hard is it to get to the other hole, talking about LHD? Is it enough removing just the center console or the entire dash?
Got the additional jet at home, but I am far away from home for the next few weeks. So I am curious what I may face...

There is a part not on Microcat which the dealers tend to stock. It's simply a repair section for when there is still some of the original unit still in place like your has. You (and indeed they) tap this on over the top and 8 out of 10 times it actually stays there and works as good as new. I don't have the part number here at home, so you will have ask directly at a dealership parts counter.

As I said the outer bit [that contains the actual nozzles] often comes away Rolling Eyes Steve.

I had done this on my Td5 and it was quite easy. Taking the whole dashboard apart was a matter of 6 screws or so. I have attempted to do the same on the Puma and I gave up. The dashboard is a nightmare and I haven't been ale to find detailed instructions on how to get access to behind it.
