I reckon, at a push, you could just about squeeze another multibag of Walkers crisps in there? |

Thanks! I think the BFG tyres finish it nicely IMO.
Only 'problem' with the rack is it means the overall height is 2.11m so I can't get under the 2.1m height barrier at the local town centre carpark... Not a major problem but a minor inconvenience |

Ah well, such is life! Good job you've got a 'go anywhere, park anywhere' truck then!

Blimey, I shudder to think how much stuff most of you seem to take with you camping.
Have done many 4 week camping trips out of the back of a Subaru. Best Land Rover based effort was a 2 week caving expedition to the French Alps with 9 of us and all our camping and caving kit in and on a 109 station wagon. That was a bit of a squeeze! |

Sorry to resurrect an old post but I'm just wondering if anyone here - (as well as GREENI) has used a Tab Caravan and what they think of them. I know they call one of their models the 'Off Road' but I wouldn't want to drag it through deep rutted tracks or deep water. However, I would like be able to maybe drag it across sand pistes if at all possible. Just wondering if anyone has done anything like this? I don't want an off road trailer as my knees and back make life difficult for me to deal with pitching tents etc. Any advice gratefully received. Thanks, Pete. |

We towed our 1987 Eriba Touring caravan across the Baltic states in 2010. Apart from the main roads there are many gravel roads connecting all those lovely villages. The gravel roads are, in many cases, smoother than the asphalt roads with nasty potholes.
Last year we went to Albania, with the Defender towing the Eriba. Now, there you will find some unpaved, rocky roads! Main roads are partly unpaved, partly gravel, and often in some stage of being worked at. We took many small unsurfaced roads to enjoy the sights in this mag-ni-fi-cent country. The little Eriba Touring caravan has a maximum laden weight of 750 kg. We put only soft stuff in the overhead lockers, to prevent stuff made from hard materials banging around and causing damage. All other gear is stored in 8 'Really Useful Boxes' of the 35 liters variety. Watertight, shockproof, dustproof. Have look at my video. I had just posted it in the 'mirror arms' topic, but it fits here as well First part is from an old tape so not very good quality, second part from 5:29 is better quality. Tillerman. |

Thanks Tillerman - Great Videos and very inspiring.
Looks like I should be okay in Baltic States and Albania - which are both on my list for this year or early next year. You have been very helpful so thank you. Pete. |
