Medal carnage 2012
Medals left, right and centre at the moment. Looks like the National Lottery funding may have worked afterall?

I think last night's athletics was probably up there with 2003 Rugby World Cup and the 2005 Ashes series.

Are we just good, or has the rest of the world (appart from China and USA) not bothered with the Olympics for some reason?

Much much better than I expected Very Happy. Shame we tend to be average (at best) in the <10,000 metre runs Laughing Geoff

Was a bit negative leading upto the Opening Ceramony but seeing Team GB on the winners podium makes me feel very proud especially in that mad hour on Saturday night. Jess is no doubt made for life and she deserves it. Well done to all of Team GB and to our Yorkshire competitors who would be 10th in the medal table on their own. For such a small island we are certainly up there with the best.

And it's now official - Chris Evans has just announced that Yorkshire rules the world. Ok, so he is not telling us anything we didn't already know here in yorkshire but it's good that the rest of the country has been enlightened.
What has impressed me is the number 50 and 60 something's in the show jumping, perhaps in the words of john Wayne I better drink my milk and get back on my horse.
