I had no trouble fitting mine at all. I removed the bonnet (with assistance), applied Vaseline to the new bushes and inserted them (I did need to use a cramp to squeeze one pair all the way home), then fitted the new hinges to the bonnet, leaving them loose enough to be adjusted.

Then, with help lifted the bonnet back on. Needed a hammer and a hardwood drift to knock the new pins through (since the bushes were not quite coaxial), then adjusted the hinges for original fit and tightened. The whole job took about 15 minutes.

Then I wiped over the plastic bushes from the old hinges so that they were a nice shiny black and dropped them into an opened bag of Liquorice Allsorts we had lying around. I haven't seen them since.

wont be fitting mine for a few weeks (any fitted photos guys) I will try fitting the bonnet struts again when I fit the hinges as the hinges will stop the bonnet being pushed forward, I will let you know how it all goes when I get around to it. I will then have the hinges and the struts slowing the would be bonnet thief down (oh and the home made bonnet alarm) DEFENDER 90 TDCI XS,

I hope everyone is well and your land rovers make you happy

Anti theft bonnet hinges
We have just received our stock of Offroad Tec anti theft bonnet hinges.

Now have them in stainless, black powder coated and samples in white and silver powder coating.

For those Defender 2 forum members who missed out on the group buy we can offer these for £65 including delivery by recorded first class post until the end of August.

Will post some photos up later.

Brendan

The stainless ones are the same price as the black powder coated stainless ones. We are holding the price for Defender 2 forum users at £65 to the end of August. From 1st Sept the forum price will be going up!
