hand brake adjustment

Hi all.

About 3 weeks back my hand brake warning lights started staying on because the lever was not seating properly. I took it apart and found the inner cable was pushing the lever up. I adjusted the drum as per the wners book and also adjusted the outer cable so the lever sat down. Now it is doing it again, is there another issue of which I'm getting these symptoms that I need to find or is more adjustment needed?

Sometimes it's the rubber gaiter that's around the lever.... my old 300 used to do that. Can't remember how I cured it, think it was remove the rubber, heat it in the kettle or a hot pan, and then re-shape it so it was more elongated as opposed to being angled, so it didn't try to "lift" the handbrake lever itself.

Thought of that so took it off, still no better. Rhubarb and custard let fly with their secret weapon.
