So, I'm finally a Land Rover owner! The new motor arrived a couple of weeks ago, after waiting more than 4 months since ordering it. I wanted the classic look so I went for a basic spec, the only factory extras being cloth seats, cold climate pack and the side steps - since then I've added a cubby box, locking wheel nuts, a stereo (only a Land Rover one but it's good enough for what I want) plus some grab handles on the rear crossmember. I've only done 500 miles so far but have filled it up a couple of times and it's done 27MPG both times, but boy am I enjoying it!
The only thing I'm not sure about is something which has been mentioned on here previously, when it's ticking over there's a kind of flapping sound from the air intake on the wing. I've seen things like loose manifold covers being mentioned but all seems ok on mine, I'm not really worried about it but it would be nice to know what's causing it. Other than that everything seems fine so here's to the next few years of Land Rover ownership and fun! Hope to get to some of the shows and meet a few more owners. Cheers! Tony |

they are noisy on tick over through the side vent. if you look at the route its rather convoluted and can't aid flow TBH. If it drives ok and your happy don't take it to the delaer every 5 minutes.
