The EGR valve is on the right hand side (looking from the front) at the back of the engine below the inlet manifold. Find the red engine lift bracket and look down. You will see the EGR cooler coming around the back of the engine which then connects to the EGR proper. It has two bolts which connect it to the EGR cooler and two bolts which connect it to the outlet pipe which links in to the the inlet manifold. There is a single upright electrical connector at the front of the EGR valve.
I changed mine recently. Took two hours but would take far less a second time around. To me I would think the bolts would be difficult to access it you have big hands. There is one bolt head hidden behind at the back of the EGR under the inlet manifold. I did not strip any other components out other than the EGR. There might be easier or better ways of doing it. I used one of those inspection cameras to line up the socket with the head of the hidden bolt head to remove it and to replace it. I positioned the gaskets one at a time and fitted one bolt each screwed in a few turns to hold them in place. I think there are some good EGR photographs in other recent posts. Others might have better and quicker change methods. Hope this helps a little. |
