Its the head lamp switch.
The current for the lamps runs through it and it often fails. Sime fix is to repalce the switch. In the mean time you can bypass the switch with a suitable piece of wire and a few blade connectors. 2002 Defender 110 DC |

Thanks, will have a look tomorrow and I guess get a replacement switch. Can't believe theyd run the full power through the switch, but I guess that's how cars have developed over the years. Cheers Ian Over on D3 |

To test it:
pull the switch out and there will be a multiplug. You should have 12v to it, one permanant, one Ign. Get a voltmeater onto it to check you have power to the switch before you go out and buy one. I rigged up a piece of wire with some blade fixings to get the lights to work while I waited for the switch to be delivered. 2002 Defender 110 DC |

the normal light switch still seems to trigger the relay.... Will check it in the morning. Am I cheking the Main Beam switch (with indicator) or the low/normal beam switch?
The main beam switch doesnt seem to do anything anymore, is that relying on the main beam being on (or at least power throiugh the main beam circuit? Over on D3 |
