Retainer thingee for lamp guard?
Hi all,

The rear door swung back open on me the other day when I tried to close it with my hands full (silly me). Because I'm parked on a steep gradient, it swung open with a great deal of force and the spare wheel hit the rear lamp guard, ripping it off the little plastic retainer thingee in the process.

Any idea what those things are called (clip? retainer?) and/or where I can pick up a new one?

I'm going to look into fitting a gass strut to keep that from happening again. Door nearly knocked me over and down the hill.

The clip is called a P-clip you should be able to get them from most hardware/DIY shops.

Made mine out of stainless to avoid them breaking again.
Made the top one a bit longer so the guard sits a bit further out - looks slightly wonky but that doesn't bother me and the wheel doesn't foul Wink Tell someone you love them today because life is short.
But shout it at them in German because life is also terrifying and confusing...

Yep, as above a P clip. As regarding the gas strut. I recently got one and it's a worth while purchase I can assure you. I got mine direct from Nakatanenga and easy enough to install too. Thumbs Up $W33T $0U7H3RN $UG4R

That is great news, hopefully there will be some still in stock when I get there. Very Happy
