It is rather gratifying that this creation stands next to no chance of being legally imported to the USA, as the letter in the link on the original Expedition Portal page makes clear, see link , it is worth a read. Anyone thinking of buying this thing should read the letter, and at the very least ensure that the dealer has to sort out the import to the US as a condition of purchase.

If I was the US customs authority I would be quite aggrieved that the "restorer" of this vehicle clearly thinks I am a complete retard and I would not be in a very good frame of mind when asked to rule on it!

I would also have said that any attempt to register that as a 1985 vehicle in the UK would be illegal.

As for the price - well, when I saw that the coffee I was drinking came back out of my nose! I haven't laughed so much for a long time. Are they serious?

That's just their advertising plate - BLR for Berkshire Land Rover and 130 for 130 Thumbs Up

I'm sure they've been investigated before but still keep on scamming. John

Yeah I figured it was fake, just wondered if they had put it on as a private reg, my aim was to see if it really was registered as a 1985 vehicle.

With respect to the letter above, whilst it sounds like good news from the point of view of stolen vehicles etc, there are still plenty of obvious ringers for sale in the US, or at least vehicles "rebuilt to 2007 specs" - make of that what you will. Confused

They're talking (slating!) this 130 on the American D-90 forum, so they're well aware of it. They're well aware of BLR too, "he" (whoever the manager is) is a member on there as a heated debate started about him ripping someone off.

It seems all amicable now, but I just think it's until the waves settle down.
