A few years ago we wanted a new tent with a bigger porch - ended up with a Vanga Beta 450. The porch is huge and is side opening and doesn't tend to get too much dew rain building up on it, so you don't get a shower every time you go in and out.
We can both sit inside the porch area full size folding chairs in the porch so it give you somewhere to chill out if its raining outside. Built in groundsheet extends into porch, so keeps everything dry and tidy. Don't use it anymore since we changed again back to quick erect Kyham 'Biker' - didn't like having to feed the poles in on the Vango! The Biker has a better porch than our old model (similar to the current model Highlander)but not as big as the Vango. Must say we don't think the Kyham poles on our newer one are as sturdy as on the older models. Dave camped in the new one at a trial last month and the wind was bending the poles in and whacking him on the head! Think they are thinner than the older ones. |

I've got a Vango Icarus 500. Sleeps five people, and has two compartments. You can remove the centre partition and make it a whole sleeping area & has a nice big porch. Three poles go across the tent and erected by two people in about 15mins.
