I was considering a nice TDCi 90 for the 2nd car and then this popped up. Always like the TD5's cos they are the nicest sounding but anyone got any issue with a crew cab? Maybe not what the wife expects but hey.....!! 1951 80" S1 2.0 1995 110 300TDI 1995 90 300TDI |

In short - no and no
In my book TD5's are excellent, sound is brilliant especially with a special exhaust fitted, they pull well etc. Only down side I can see is the need for an overdrive or the likes for long journeys. Double cab is brilliant, my 2009 does everything I need it for. Of course, this is a totally unbiased answer (just don't look at my signature)

discovery transfer box sots the low gearing out.
a decent tune, interccoler, exhaust and hybrid turbo sort the td5 flat spot off boost. a DC is different and with a cage on is very practical |

DC's are commercials so tend to be advertised ex VAT. Private ones like mine will be advertised VAT inclusive, probably end up at the same price but can be misleading.
