my spare is a Lucas SQB709

on the box:

SQB709
Switch 98SA
Pack date: 35/10 <-- looks like week number and year
Batch No: D2279

It has a 3 pin multiplug on the end. (Note: this is the headlight on/off switch not the dip/full/indicator swtich)

Isn't the internet a fantastic thing...

Main beam failed this morning (sidelights still ok) - quick search on here and bingo I have the answer.

Anyway that was the easy bit, tried to build up the contact with some solder, but managed to melt the plastic. Ended up drilling a small hole and using a self tapping screw to create a new contact. It's a bit of a hodge so ordered a new switch from defenderbits, but at least I can get to the station tomorrow morning.

So thanks for the previous posters Thumbs Up
