Chile 2007 Defender 110 Puma 2.4 SW Chawton White
Transfer case oil level
Thanks to a body I got the workshop manual for the Puma (mainly). Anyway, most LR have the LT230 TC but by reading the document I realize that the oil infill plug has not to be used to check on oil level Shocked .

quoting

CAUTION: The transfer case oil filler plug must not be used as a transfer case oil level plug. Failure
to follow this instruction may result in damage to the vehicle.

How do you check it up? Christ in bike! Puma 110" SW

I suspect they're trying to cover their own arses in case you try checking the oil level with the vehicle facing uphill, so you won't get as much oil into it, or facing downhill where you'd overfill it (and them maybe it might leak, heaven forbid a LEAK on a LR! Rolling with laughter )

They probably think you should drain all the oil, then refill with the correct quantity.
