Top tip: Measure your bolts!!!
I decided to change the steering guards over on the project90 and the 110

110 had a southdown type, 90 had a proper mantec dural one, which lookd better so I thought i'd stick it on the 110, and put my scabby southdown one onto the 90 (as it's more of a scabby vehicle Laughing )

Southdown onto 90, all well and good. 90 doesn't have an engine or radiator in it at the moment.

fitted the mantec one onto the 110, which uses 3 bolts per side, thus:

The southdown doesn't use the top bolt.

my 110 has a galvanised chassis. so this top bolt hole had never been used, and so was slightly tight fitting for the bolt.
No problem, tickle it in with the hammer. the bolt I was using was about 3/4" too long, but I could pack it out with some washers on the inside. no problem.

So i whacked it in only to be met by the sound of pouring liquid, and all my antifreeze draining down the drive.

Because of:

The bolt hole lines up exactly with the edge of the radiator... and it didn't like being hit with a bolt.

So cue one rapid strip down, radiator out and intercooler out to fit a new one. luckily I had a new rad on the shelf in the garage, but still a PITA! Laughing Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes

Its a nice guard. Just check the top bolts! I used the long one in the end but cut thje end off with the angle grinder.....easy when the rad and intercooler are out on the floor! Laughing
