Nope.

As a side note, can one use the AlienTech remap unit on other vehicles? --

the info I am after is what the remap interfaces operating system does to the flow of comms between modules when it is first plugged into the OBDII socket. Thumbs Up

I would appreciate if you could pm me the dtc's that are logged, if any?

Brian.

Hi Brian, the interface should not make any comms with any module untill a button is pressed.

Im not sure i fully understand what you are trying to get to the bottom of but ill try and help if i can, if you plug the interface into the obd port it does not send any diagnostic traffic to any ecu until a button is pressed ? Sometimes the bus will go light from the resistance change as a new obd device powers its self and sometimes heavy after but no traffic diagnostic is sent until you press a button or function.

Here is what happens when you plug the obd interface in with key off as i suspected it would due to the resistance change. This was made with NO filters set so all CAN traffic would show in the trace if it were coming from the Allientec interface.

Its possibile like on a D3 that an other module is watching the bus for traffic but leaving the logger on for over 10 mins no traffic is sent or received so i would assume all modules are asleep and not looking on the bus. At least when the key is off anyway.

in my personally opinion is only a "bug" on sync SW subroutine inside the EMS that do not syncronize well (or do not sync at all) the IC and/or spurious signals on ECM in/out...... Discovery 5 td6 HSE Stornoway Gray Outback Engineering Limited Edition

DG, I think I know what the issue is, I just needed help to confirm it. Sad

Thanks to all who contributed to this post, but as I did not want this topic to get into the software issues or to give an explanation of what symptoms I found exactly, mainly so that I could get some unbiased feedback from interface users. All I was asking for initially was for interface users to do a 5 min test that may help everyone's understanding of DTC's and what may or may not tip dealers off to the presence of remap files being on the EMS at one point or another. This has not happened, except for Naks reply so I am going to drop this now as it is getting so far off what I initially asked to start with that it is starting to cross over onto other issues which are more theory than fact. Thumbs Up

Brian.
