Aftermarket exhausts
So, my 90XS (Puma 2.4) arrives on Friday, and in addition to a Stage 2 retune by JE, I am wondering what cat back exhaust upgrade to proceed with. Any recommendations for a newbie would be much appreciated.
Thanks
S

Try a Griffin system available on E-bay that's off the shelf. Other than that it's bespoke jobs as far as I am aware. Maybe someone else has some other ideas though? Thumbs Up âï¸âï¸God Bless the USA 🇬🇧🇺🇸 âï¸âï¸

Thanks. JE have said they can sort me out (for £650 or so) but I am interested in the alternatives.

Most custom exhaust places will build you a system exactly to your requirements for around the £400 mark - and that way you get exactly what you want, how you want it routed and with as many or few silencers as you want Very Happy

I'm never buying an off the shelf system again Laughing

I'm getting a straight through system made up by my local specialists for the TR, it sounds fantastic Cool

They've made 3 systems for me now and the price is always the same or less than a simple "bolt on" system - but totally personalised to how I want it. Mr. Green

Hi Skyman

I had a custom SS system made for my TD5, no cat, no centre box and a cherry bomb back box.

The sound is to die for, no booming in the cab and I am more than happy Thumbs Up

I have been told that mine was used as a template vehicle and the TD5 systems are now for sale, they are made in Somerset.

Here is the link to the TD5 version (could be mine before fitting !)

http://www.westsomersetlandrovers.com/shop...duct_id=55

Might be worth contacting them to see if they could make one for a Puma 90.

I have had mine done in the last few months and it is without doubt the best modification I have done to date. It has totally transformed the way it runs and drives. Only went to 2 & 1/2 inch then steps down to 2 x 2 & 1/4 inch. If you go to three inch you may get back pressure problems.

This is what I reported on the forum

http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic13172.html

I should add it was a full custom and apart from the centre box and tail pipes every bit was bent, welded and made in front of me and to how I wanted it. I made few changes to the route from the original.

If you are going to the B&W show you are welcome to have a look at it.

Boy

I've just had our ALIVE exhausts re-designed, to make them sound nicer (they were far too quiet and refined) and louder, with a more simplified design. Our exhausts are made by one of the UK's longest established performance exhaust manufacturers, and come with a lifetime guarantee, as you'd expect with anything from Alive.

We do some great package deals for forum users too. Don't buy anything before you've spoken to us first! Wink
