 2016 Defender 130 Puma 2.2 HCPU Santorini Black
Impressed with first long run of our Puma
Tanked the beast up, hitched a 3m trailer for all the camping gear and loaded the roof rack with 5 bikes. Trundled upto Cumbria and fuel light still not on 340miles later. Well impressed by it's ability and mpg for such a war horse. 1951 80" S1 2.0

Bang on 65 all the way - - didn't want to raise too many eyebrows with the trailer on or would have gone faster. 1951 80" S1 2.0

Nahh, if anything, a good BAS (or other) remap should actually IMPROVE your mpg - If you can keep your foot off the loud pedal. Wink

I towed a racecar back from the Ardennes (Spa to be precise) to the Cotswolds in one journey, and although tired when I arrived home (it was a long day - I left the circuit AFTER doing a two hour race!), I felt more refreshed getting out of the Defender than I would have done in a modern hatch. I do have full noisekiller kit fitted, though, and a decent stereo! Very Happy

Once you get into a groove, they really eat up the miles most agreeably, even with a trailer on the back. Still, overall the mpg I got on that journey dropped to 20! Shocked

Nope, I can normally get 400 miles out of a tank on my 110 - It's the guys getting 450-500 out of a tank that puzzle me!

I can usually manage about 400 miles out a tank.

On a recent trip to Birmingham and back (655 miles), in a day, with a twin axle trailer on the I managed to get just over 20mpg and that wasn't hanging about either.

The defender would not normally be your first choice for a long drive, but after that trip, I would have no hesitation in doing it again. It is quite happy cruising all day long Thumbs Up

Yep, consumption on mine went from 12-11l/100km to 10.4l/100km even when I put foot Wink --

Legally it can't anyway...and I wouldn't want to risk anything even approaching that speed over on the continent. The Police are usually Censored hot on speeding towers even in the UK.
