Nautilus air horns are as good , but a lot easier to fit. A number of people on D3 site are fitting these in replacement for standard horns, though wiring should be checked to make sure it is correct.
I had one fitted to my old 101 and 110. http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/?ie=UTF8&key...mt7j05jb_b I also have a large air horn trumpet. T rig this means the need for installation of a compressor and tank. Great if you want to inflate tyres etc, but a lot of hassle just to occasionally only blow a horn. |

This has been done several times before:

Owned numerous Land Rover vehicles of all shapes and sizes over the decades. Current Defender: A non tarts hand-bagged Puma 110 XS USW. [Insert something impressive here such as extensive list of previous Land Rovers or examples of your prestigeous and expensive items, trinkets, houses, bikes, vehicles etc] http://forums.lr4x4.com I used to be Miserable ...but now I'm ecstatic. |

I just installed that Wolo road warrior 845. Found one for 50USD.
http://www.wolo-mfg.com/truck.htm http://www.ebay.com/itm/Wolo-845-Road-Warr...mp;vxp=mtr Sounds great, but I underestimated the space available under the hood to fit a lenght of 55cm and 16cm diameter. Now it is behind the steering guard. |

That one, like some others as well, comes with a direct drive compressor, size like a fist, that was the easy thing to fit next to or rather together with one of the radiator fixings. Just for the horn itself I had to prepare a simple bracket using existing holes in the frame as I did not want to mount the thing visible. |

As Puma horns are also the anti-theft alarm, the appeal is greater than just noise making for its own sake. Unless accidental triggering of course. Very true. Especially if the system is a bit more unique that way you will no that it is YOUR Defender and not another vehicle $W33T $0U7H3RN $UG4R 🇬🇧ðŸ´ó §ó ¢ó ¥ó ®ó §ó ¿ðŸ´ó §ó ¢ó ·ó ¬ó ³ó ¿ðŸ´ó §ó ¢ó ³ó £ó ´ó ¿ðŸ‡®ðŸ‡ªðŸ‡ºðŸ‡¸â›½ï¸ðŸ›¢ï¸âš™ï¸ðŸ§°ðŸ’ª |

I think low frequency & high decibels are the answer. Attracts attention & stuns any theif more than the high pitched shreiks & tweets most ignored alarms have. Yup I've had two of these now, one on my old MG ZS and the other on the last 90. Both times it was just a case of swapping the spade connectors over to the new horn. The hardest part on both was getting to the horn in the first place |
