Rough ride
How can I go about making my 90 ride a little smoother? It's like a bouncy sj on leaf springs!!! 90 Puma HT

My 90 came with HD springs, i changed them to standard road springs and fitted Koni shocks, that made a big difference.

i have since played around with tyre pressures, i am convinced LR hand book say 30s at the front and 38 rear to save on drag and improve fuel consumption but it does give a hard bumping ride..

since i reverted to Puma workshop manual recommendations of 28 front and 35 rear it has made the final difference and provides a good ride. can still pitch but all short wheel based LRs will do that. the hard crashing bumpy ride has now gone. Smile BM52

I would think mine are standard springs and shock, not completely sure of tyre pressures but will adjust them tomo 90 Puma HT

Depending on tyre brand but just lowering your pressure makes one heck of a difference!

I have BFG Muds on and if they are at 2.5 bar (somewhere close to 38PSI) it is as choppy as hell.

If i lower the pressure to 1.9 bar it feels like I drive a Rolls..... and tyre wear is nice and even.

Agree dropping tyre pressures improves the ride.

But it's negative on MPG...Run much less than 30psi. and the MPG reduces, as does cornering! Defender "Puma" 2.4 110 County Utility (possibly the last of the 2.4's)

Any suggestions for pressures on a 110SW? Tyres are 265s.
35/45 sound okay?

But shout it at them in German because life is also terrifying and confusing...

Run our 90xs with 28/34 unladen, plus had bilsteins fitted all round. Makes a significant improvement. Ultimately will have to change the rear springs to a lower rating as it runs unladen most of the time.

I run 30 psi on Front, and 40 psi in rear... Defender "Puma" 2.4 110 County Utility (possibly the last of the 2.4's)

Mainly on-road? What's the MPG like? Thanks.
