Aha! The problem here is that the tax office insist that it's a "car" as it has 7 seats (higher tax than a commercial) but the insurers insist it's commercial because LR give them all the same vehicle type code (so insurance is also high). Still it's worth it
Cheers Matt Tell someone you love them today because life is short. But shout it at them in German because life is also terrifying and confusing... |

50/50 really. For a 110 SW (same age as mine): Import TAX (one off payment on date of import): E17,227.60 Road TAX (Per year): E424 Insurance (Per year): E450 A total of 18,101.60 Euro payable within the first month of import...... that is almost as much as I paid for the car!!! For the 110 Double cab: Import TAX (one off payment on date of import): E503.94 Road TAX (Per year): E212 Insurance (Per year): E750 So I guess for me it is overly fair........ just glad I didn't go for a SW!!! Yeah, even though Cyprus is part of the EU (when they want to) they still charge an import duty on vehicles. They get finned every year by the European courts but the fine they receive is about 10% of the money gained by doing it.... so they just keep doing it!! It all worked in my favour though so can't complain (even though I had to still pay the 500 Euro). Glyn |
