Now I've sealed the windscreen, I just noticed that the cladding behind all the heater/aircon stuff (central to the foorwells towards the bulkhead) is sopping wet
The water smells clean and looks clear (i.e. fresh). I also noticed that it gets bloody hot in there. Could this be due to condensation? The weather here has been bonkers and I've been alternating between aircon and heater these past weeks. I also read in another thread that someone had water dripping from his heater ducts and had to squeeze his aircon drain nipples. Could the cladding get wet from that? Its about the same height as the fusebox. Cheers Matt Tell someone you love them today because life is short. But shout it at them in German because life is also terrifying and confusing... |

Is the air-con draing properly under the vehicle after a run with it on? LANDYWATCH

I think you've got it right there
It's been raining cats and horses here all day (so aircon off) but 2 hours filthy motorway driving and the cladding is drying out nicely Therefore not a leak from outside... I also have a snow cowl. I haven't noticed aircon draining after a run so I'm going to check all these "drain holes/nipples" tomorrow. Perhaps they were bunged up when waxoyling... next time the aircon has been on for a while stick your head underneath the vehicle (observing all the usual Health and Safety precautions of course!). Water drips right onto the gearbox therefore you will see it trickling down the side (on mine its the driver's side)

B*gger it - I've just checked the two drains (under airbox and above gearbox) and they were both okay.
Will wait for nice weather and do as you suggest and hope I can figure something out before the first Stealer service at the end of the month... Matt Tell someone you love them today because life is short. But shout it at them in German because life is also terrifying and confusing... |
