Evening all. Thumbs Up

Im after some new tyres for my Puma...as the originals are too skinny and sad. Neutral
Im confused about the size thing now, after reading all these posts and which to spend my hard-earned on
But can you tell me..do the large tyre (285) still fit on the back door.??

Regards Jonathan

Thanks Fred. What kind of bullbar is that? Looks pretty serious.

No Worries, They are genuinely a great Tyre!! The Bull Bar Is a Very Heavy Duty Winch bar. I have to be honest im not sure who makes them Embarassed , i just saw it and thought 'that will do the job' It has to be said its not the greatest looking thing in the world, i'd rather get a tubular but i dont think they offer enough protection for traveling through africa. However if you are interested i can find out?

Please make sure you have upgraded the suspension before you put on 285's.. Ive heard a few horror stories first hand from people who liked the look of a 285, so fitted them. One took the car off road and suspension popped - Big damage!

The only upgrade you may wish to do is a slight lift on the springs, no need to change the suspension itself.

Plumber, it does fit but my wiper now wont sweep as it catches on the tyre Big Cry You cannot teach stupid people to do clever things

I got 2" lift using OME springs in order to go for the 285īs on proper 8" rims. Puma 110" SW

Sounds like it is operator fault- I have been running 285s on 8" rims with standard suspension for 3 months now and have had no problems. Have done a fair amount of off-roading too including Sailsbury plain and Happy Valley/ Strata Florida (West Wales) where you get full articulation loads of the time.

I will post pictures when I have a decent connection.

hey rick sorry for jacking your thread, but does anyone know what is the best solution to remove the brown/red muck which forms on the tyres? I'm not talking about mud but the stuff that stays on your tyre. Cheers guys '08 LR Defender 110
