Is removing the oil sump pan difficult ?
I have been told that removing the oil sump pan can be difficult because it is not sealed by your normal kind paper/cork gasket but by a special glue. Hence very difficult to remove the pan. Sometimes the pan might get bent in the removal process and then you have to buy a new one. If this is true then I must get a price on a new sump pan first, before I try to remove the pan. I am sure that I could get a very thin and flat piece of metal and slowly work the pan loose.

Thanks

I think they have been using a liquid gasket for a while now. Mike

Hi.

I used permatex gasket sealer on my v8 sump and removal is not so difficult.Used a rubber mallet and a utillity blade to break the seal.Just don't be in a hurry!

Cheers
