other cars have faults too

Came across a Suzuki Vitara-07 vintage- sitting by the side of the road today with it's flashers on. I stopped to investigate. Two women and three children in it.The driver said that the ABS light came on, it lost power and stopped, all in about 20 yards. Since then absolutely nothing even when the key was turned.She also said that another light came on aswell but she did not know what it was. I told her to check the handbook. She could'nt as it was at home-somewhere. Anyway as her husband was on the way I left as there was nothing I could do.
Just thought I would post this for the next time someone has bother with the Defender and states that they wish they had bought Japanese. 1982 88" 2.25 diesel

My GF drives an 53 plate vitara SWB diesel, and thats been in the dears 4 or 5 times now with the MIL light coming on,

It's something to do with the throttle pedal (driver input position device or whatever other stupid name they've got for it). sometimes when she steps on it, nothing happens. dodgy!

they've changed the pedal a couple of times and "suspect" a wiring fault....

So not all Jap stuff is infallable either!

when I step on the pedal in my 110 not much happens either

When I on the pedal in my D3 G4 V8 surely something is happening. The fuel level indicator goes down very fast. Roel

The TDV6 D3 G4 is not much better,,

at least you have a proper engine

I just spent the weekend camping with a friend who has a Nissan Nevara pickup. He's a farrier (horses shoes) and needs to carry a bit of weight - probably around half a ton.

Despite putting an extra leaf in the springs of the Nevara, it can't take the weight (even though it's supposed to be rated to a ton). The springs virtually inverted after a month.

Needless to say he's ditched it for work.

Fortunately he also has a D3, which he's very happy with. One that started out as a 2.4 TDCi 110 XS
+ New Defender 110 First Edition
