I have a Patriot and if i had to buy another it would definately be Patriot Black powder coating looks when new but if you want to use the rack it will soon start to chip and then when the weather gets in the crack it soon flakes off Stick with the bare alloy and it will still look good years on.

Patriot every time, and it is british made. I have the black one, was on the 07 for two years now on the 09 but I bought it second hand when it was four years old. Still looks good I think, should be able to see it in the photos section on our trip to spain photos. my brother has a plain alloy one on his disco for five or six years now and nothing has ever failed on it.
Check out the second hand prices when they come up on ebay. Sound piece of kit and well worth the money. Boy |

A*se.
I had convinced myself to get the Hannibal rack (cheaper). There was a part of me that was still angling after the Patriot, though. I've never heard a bad word about either. I was also looking at the black version as my car is Tonga green with black chequer plate. That makes it even more expensive. Will the hannibal roof awning fit to a patriot rack? One that started out as a 2.4 TDCi 110 XS + New Defender 110 First Edition |

Somehow I just knew it would have to be the dearer one, thanks for all your input. Even though it seems a crazy amount to spend on a roof rack, I need it to be right for the job and to look the part as well. Will look for used initially but haven't seen anything in recent months. landyman 1 |

Depends if you have full agricultural/farming membership.
If you don't it costs £50 to join farming membership and once armed with membership number phone and ask for a voucher quoting your membership number. If you contact your local office and ask they will soon tell you how to qualify.Mine were very helpful in getting me the right membership. Offer runs till Mar2010 or before if money runs out. Happy hunting |
